So I found this poor little lady (males have a white spot on their head) lying unresponsive on my front porch and I thought I would take the opportunity to take some macro shots of her. After a few clicks, I felt like the images were a little boring and not the best way to celebrate Ms. Bee’s life. This may or may not be one of the top 5 weirdest things I’ve done but it was certainly fun creating a miniature party, complete with “sponge” cake, for a hardworking carpenter bee 🐝🪩

*No animals were harmed in the creation of this image and Ms. Bee has since been laid to rest in the comfort of my backyard

It is said that brown food is the most difficult food to photograph. I decided to go #bold and take on the challenge with one of my favorites (and a classic fall time treat)- s’mores 🍫🔥🪵 During my experience, however, working with brown was the least of my problems. It was the fire that got me. If you are going to try to melt your chocolate in the microwave, do not do it with a dry graham cracker on a dry paper towel on high heat 😉 Also, when roasting your marshmallows with a blowtorch, be sure to have an entire bag handy!
